Charity Wine Auction

The Budapest Wine Festival, the winemaking profession, and the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta are coming together for the 20th time to prove that it's our collective mission to help those in need! The Charity Wine Auction will be held for the 20th time this year, with consignors, successful entrepreneurs and private individuals all working to help with a common cause. We managed to raise a record amount of support last year, thanks to an excellent bidding spirit, which we hope will not diminish and enable us to top last year's sum of 7,700,000. HUF.

Tiszabura - the tailor shop

This year's 40,000 Wine Festival cup holders were made in the tailor shop of the Maltese Charity Service, in Tiszabura. With the shop's opening in 2016,  economic activity emerged in the life of the village: machinery began working, orders started being placed, goods began to be delivered, deals started being struck - all these things that were previously missing from everyday life here. The making of cup holders also contributed to the sustainable operation of the shop and the stable incomes of the workers' families. However, the sewing shop is not only a place of manufacture but also a professional training ground, helping elementary school children through playful activities with their studies and career choices.

This aims of this year's collection

This year's Charity Wine Auction aims to support programs for children and young people at the Tiszabura tailor shop. The Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta would like to create a new, modern sewing room for the children so they become familiar with tailoring as a profession that can be used later in their work, or simply as useful knowledge or a hobby in adulthood.

Plans at the sewing shop also include regular workshops for kindergartens and schools and even adult training for the many women of the area, providing them with an opportunity to learn the profession.

Thanks to our long-standing online auction partner Axioart, real-time online bidding will be available this year, increasing the program's widespread social publicity.
