First-time Exhibitors at the Wine Festival

Heinemann Brothers – Experts in Fine Drinks

There are names that stand as a guarantee of quality. One such name is the Hamburg-based Gebrüder group’s subsidiary, Heinemann Brothers. This beverage trading company with decades of experience has been present on the Hungarian market since 1992 and from the very beginning it has positioned itself among the best.

Their selection is a real treasure trove for anyone interested in exceptional beverages. Most of their range consists of carefully selected, high-quality imported products, with a particularly rich palette in the world of spirits. Heinemann is not only an expert in distillates but also knows exactly what creates the feeling that you are holding something truly special in your hands when tasting a fine wine.

At their first appearance at the Wine Festival they are bringing the iconic names from the world’s greatest wine regions. Visitors will find the legendary Louis Roederer and the Rothschild Champagne House from Champagne, the elegant bubbles of Zonin Prosecco from Italy, and the globally beloved Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. This is only the beginning, as their wine list also includes some of our favorite foreign reds from the sunny hills of Puglia, the volcanic terroir of Sicily, the golden vineyards of California and the exciting wine regions of Portugal.

Those approaching the festival from the Baroque Gate will immediately come across the Heinemann stand on the Fishing Kids Terrace at Stand Number 1. It is worth stopping here for a tasting, as most of these wines are usually available only in bottled form. At the Wine Festival, however, the bottles are opened and guests are warmly invited to enjoy a glass from their premium selection.

Optimus Winery – Fresh Energy and Refined Experiences from the Heart of Etyek

One of the newest yet highly promising players of the Etyek–Budai wine region is making its debut this year at the Budapest Wine Festival. Behind the wines of Optimus Winery stands a family passion project, born in 2019, which in just a few years has grown into a serious artisanal winery.

What began as a hobby winery now cultivates nearly four hectares, enriching Hungary’s wine culture with around twenty thousand bottles each year. A closeness to nature, creative experimentation and a commitment to quality are evident in every single bottle. While traditional sparkling wine production is undeniably their main focus, just like in a true workshop, there is also room for fresh must, orange wine, pet-nat, reductive styles and oak-aged wines.

Taste the freedom of creation, the rhythm of nature and genuine hospitality at Stand 115 in the Lion Courtyard.

Gluck Estate – Tradition, Faith and Contemporary Wine Culture

Amid the rolling hills of Etyek, where the tranquility of nature meets the precision of human craftsmanship, a unique winery is writing a new chapter in Hungarian wine culture. Gluck Estate stands out not only for its dedication to quality and character but also as Hungary’s first and only certified kosher winery. Here, the spirit of Jewish traditions blends harmoniously with modern winemaking technology.

The estate came under the ownership of a Jewish proprietor in 2022, who is deeply committed to strengthening and reinterpreting Jewish wine culture in Hungary. The operation of Gluck Estate follows the strictest religious regulations: only individuals who observe the Jewish Sabbath laws may handle the wine, from consecration all the way to bottling. The rules prohibit the use of animal-derived materials during production, allowing only kosher-certified ingredients, which ensures an exceptional purity.

And why are they at the Budapest Wine Festival? Because they believe that kosher wine is not a niche product but a drink for open-hearted people. It is not only for the Jewish community or those who follow a vegan lifestyle but for anyone who values pure, distinctive flavours, mindfulness and quality. Gluck Estate stands on the threshold of a new era, and they wish to share this moment with all those encountering this rarity for the first time. At Stand 95 in the Lion Courtyard, every detail about kosher wines will be revealed.

Kaisergarten Nier Winery – Perfect Wines for Every Mood

The majority of the winery’s selection consists of international wines, complemented by a smaller but carefully chosen range of Hungarian labels. These are sourced by the company’s wine experts at some of the world’s most renowned wine events, such as ProWein. The guiding principle behind the portfolio is simple yet highly deliberate: every bottle must faithfully reflect the region from which it originates. In addition, each wine must possess a distinctive character, authenticity and an exceptional taste experience to earn its place in the meticulously curated selection. “From the good, only the best” is their motto, reflecting their aim not only to offer quality but also to create memorable tasting experiences.

It has been a long time since Kaisergarten Nier Winery last participated in the Wine Festival, but now they return to the Buda Castle with renewed energy and exciting novelties. At Stand 12, with the picturesque Danube view as a backdrop, visitors can enjoy thematic tasting flights built around countries, grape varieties or styles. This allows guests to discover the characteristic flavours of a wine region through its typical varietals and profiles.

Füzik Winery

This is a true family business, where every single bottle of wine carries the heart, soul, hard work and dedication of the family. From cultivating the vines to winemaking and welcoming guests, they personally oversee every step of the process. They farm 5.5 hectares, work with various grape varieties, and always strive to ensure their wines reflect the character of their terroir as well as their passion for wine. For them, quality is not simply a consideration but a guiding principle. Each vintage is crafted with the aim of delivering an experience – whether it is a light, fruity white or a bold, oak-aged red.

For the Wine Festival they are bringing a diverse selection – fresh white wines, flavourful rosé, and distinctive reds – all of which faithfully reflect the style of the winery. They are also presenting special blends that showcase their experimental spirit and the kind of creativity only a family-run winery can express so freely. Their wines are for those who appreciate the stories behind artisanal wines, the care of a family and genuine hospitality. At Stand 68 you will have the chance to meet the family in person, ask questions and enjoy a conversation with them.

When It Comes to Premium, FinestWine Knows No Compromise

For more than two decades, FinestWine has been a key player on the Hungarian wine scene, becoming one of the defining names in quality wine trading. With a strong wholesale background, they have built a portfolio selected with the utmost care and expertise, including only wines that are considered benchmarks at an international level. These bottles regularly appear on the world’s top 100 lists, achieve over 95 points in the most demanding ratings, and proudly bear the recommendations of Robert Parker and James Suckling. It is not unusual to find their wines listed on the menus of Michelin-starred restaurants around the globe.

The wine merchant is able to meet every premium expectation. Their elegantly designed boutique shop, aptly named Habozó, is a true treasure trove for lovers of sparkling wines. Its selection consists exclusively of sparkling varieties such as Prosecco, Cava, Franciacorta and Champagne, which they will be introducing to visitors at this year’s Budapest Wine Festival. How about starting with an extraordinary vertical tasting of Prosecco from a remarkable DOCG-classified hilltop vineyard? With a bit of luck, you may even meet the winemaker in person, who will be present at the festival to share the story and vintages behind this special series.

For lovers of red wine, Stand 79 in the Csikós Courtyard will be an unmissable stop, where FinestWine will present one of the festival’s most exclusive red wine selections. Expect rich, deep and complex wines that are rare to encounter individually, let alone together in one place. The spotlight will be on powerful reds with over 14 percent alcohol, including the classics of the Piedmont hills such as Barolo and Barbaresco, as well as the legendary Super Tuscans, among them the iconic Sassicaia.

Just a few names from this exceptional line-up: the world-renowned Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia from Tuscany, the historic Pio Cesare and Borgogno from Piedmont, and the silky yet bold Le Macchiole Merlot from the heart of Bolgheri.
